While reading this book I had so many thoeries on what had happened to make Cadence loose her memory, I was convinced Gat had raped her or hurt her in some way! Not once did i think all three of them had died in the fire!
It was so surprising and yet once i knew what had happened I thought back and remembered all of these things that happened that pointed to the other three being dead. For example how none of them replied to her emails (which i remember thinking was odd at the time) how her mum kept pushing her to play with the other kids (which i just figured it was because something had happened with Gat) and also how they were never at dinner... looking back i feel so stupid for not guessing it!
Apart from the whole shocking ending, another thing i loved about this book is how E . Lockhart personifies Cadences emotions, like when she says her dad shot her! At first i literally thought he had.. then i was confused cause it was so sudden.. and THEN i realized that it was just a way for her to express how she was feeling. She felt like he'd shot her in the chest.
